[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]What brought you to Geo Owl?
There was an open position at Geo Owl for a proposal specialist that was recommended to me due to my strong technical writing skills.

What do you do at Geo Owl?
I am a proposal specialist and I am currently helping Geo Owl to pursue several opportunities that will allow us to apply our geospatial expertise to projects that are more environmentally-focused. I am currently developing several new operating procedures and workflows for dealing with scientific data that can be used in a variety of applications and projects.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is that I get to assist with pursuing new opportunities in really interesting and important fields such as coastal management or environmental risk assessment.

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?
I like hiking and camping, but my number one hobby is flying drones (and is also conveniently my other part-time job). I really enjoy taking photographs but am also trained in imagery collection, processing, and analysis.

What is your favorite book and why?
I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite book, but my favorite non-fiction writer is John McPhee and my favorite fiction writer is Cormac McCarthy.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1227″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Five years from now I see myself managing multiple projects that align with my interest in the environment and natural resources. I am not going to tell you I want to save the world, but I think I have a part to play in advancing the human understanding of our natural places and our impacts on the world we live in.

What advice would you give to other people in your career field?
I would just share with everyone my favorite quote by Thomas Edison. “Opportunity is often missed because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Or more simply, a strong work ethic is really the gateway to opportunity, so don’t shy away from something just because it seems difficult.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
