What brought you to Geo Owl?
Tom Koch. He used to be on my team up at Lejeune. He was promoting the company and seeing if I would be interested in something in Wilmington. We worked on planning and infrastructure down in Lejeune as part of a five year contract.
What do you do at Geo Owl? GIS Team Lead. Production Lead.
What is your favorite part of that role? Definitely the team aspect, working towards a common goal.
Do you have any hobbies? If so, what? Family is my number one hobby of course. Golf is definitely number two. I played in High School and last year played in the local Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament!
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
My wife and I moved from Florida for a five year contract in Lejeune that was unfortunately cancelled after two years. I would like to progress within Geo Owl and keep working toward industry certifications. I would really like to go back to grad school to get my MBA.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1078″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]What are your lifetime goals? I would say some of my main goals are to succeed as a parent and a husband. It’s the hardest job ever. My daughter just turned three and I am trying my best to be a good father for her.
What advice would you give to others in a STEM career?
I would say number one, since GIS is such a niche thing, network well and keep a good reputation. It’s such a small network which is good because it’s specialized but your reputation follows you. Also, leverage other people’s strengths, I like to be a knowledge sponge, I’ve worked with a lot of smart people and I try and learn from others as much as possible.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
