Intelligence has run in my family, father was counter-intel during Vietnam, great-uncle worked as a cryptologist in Korea, my grandfather on my mom’s side worked in Intelligence during WW2, I wanted to continue the tradition and collect information that would help my country.

What is your favorite thing about being an analyst?
My favorite thing about being an analyst is being able to put pieces of a puzzle together.

What do you do to help keep a routine while on rotating shifts?
One of the things I do is try to maintain a hobby, I like woodworking and martial arts, cooking for my wife, doing something to maintain a level of normalcy.

What is your favorite quote?
“If not us, who? If not now, when?”

How many times have you deployed? What is your favorite thing about deployment?
One. You become close with your team, in a very spartan lifestyle for however long you’re out there. All your problems, successes, and failures are shared![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_separator border_width=”2″][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]What made you want a career in the Intelligence Community?
I wanted to be a Flight Warrant and my recruiter told me to get something with a clearance. I spent a lot of time outside of the intel community working production jobs, I went back into the intel community because of the impact my job has on the world.

What is your favorite thing about being an analyst?
When my opinion has weight and people trust what I say, and they take that seriously, that they make decisions based off of that.

What do you do to help keep a routine while on rotating shifts?
I’m on nights right now, I don’t shift my schedule when I’m on off days. I have kids, when I’m on day shift, there is really no change. On nights, I force myself to stay on the same schedule so when I have to go back to work I’m still good to go. Being active on my off-days instead of just sitting on my couch, I like to rock-climb.

What is your favorite book?
I really like Tom Clancy. It’s a toss up between Teeth of the Tiger or Cardinal of the Cremlin.

What is your favorite thing about deployment?
The only thing you have to focus on is work, there is a lot more freedom of deployment then when you’re home. When you’re deployed your only responsibility is your job and focusing on the mission. I love being in ITC when I’m deployed it’s so much fun. Most challenging to rewarding ratio.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

I wanted something different, rated pretty high on the ASVAB and Intel just seemed like something that I wanted to do.

What is your favorite thing about being an analyst?
The ambiguity of it all, the ability for things to play out rather quickly.

What do you do to help keep a routine while on rotating shifts?
Typically, when I get home I play with my kids whether that be in the morning or at night, an organized chaos. But I place family first.

What is your favorite quote?
Jewish Proverb. Don’t ask for a lighter load, ask for broader shoulders.

How many times have you deployed? What is your favorite thing about deployment? 5 or 6. The simplicity of it all, just you and your work. No distractions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_separator border_width=”2″][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]What made you want a career in the Intelligence Community?
As an Infantry Officer, I was looking for a more well-rounded career path after the Army. Being a successful intelligence professional within the Intelligence Community grants you unparalleled placement and access to some of the most respected organizations within the DoD.

What is your favorite thing about being an analyst?
Being enabled and trusted by the customer to make the right assessment in a moment’s notice while having a sizeable impact on the battlefield and seeing instant results of your decisions.

What do you do to help keep a routine while on rotating shifts?Proper nutrition and working out are paramount to a sound mind while working shift work. Rotating shifts can wear your body down if you do not take care of yourself.

What is your favorite book?
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, which details the long term positive outcome of your daily actions and decisions.

What is your favorite thing about deployment?
After 2 deployments, what I love most about being deployed is being completely surrounded by self-driven, hard-working and motivated personnel who are passionate about our mission. Being able to disconnect from politics and the nuances of daily life, and just focus on getting good work done with even greater results.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
