Justin Klein is one of our Full-Time Imagery Analysts, he started as an Intern on the JANUS Program.
What brought you to Geo Owl?
I knew someone who used to work here, Hunter Synan. I met a few people at the NC AUG Conference. Everyone seemed really cool and it seemed like a great place to work, which is what made me apply.
What is your favorite part of being an Imagery Analyst?
It’s cool seeing different countries and the imagery of different countries. Working together as a team to accomplish a quick turnaround, it’s always a challenge but it’s very rewarding in the end.
Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?
My dogs, I have a black-lab bull mastiff and a golden retriever/aussie mix named Pete and Charlie. They take up most of my time when I get home from work. Music is another hobby of mine, my office is like my studio, when I have free time I try to do that. I play guitar primarily. School is also kind of a hobby, I am finishing up my Masters of Geospatial Information, Science, and Technology at NC State Online.
What is your favorite book and why?
I will read anything by Dan Brown.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Five years from now I see myself improving my skills in the GIS field to a point where I can move up from the bottom rung. I see myself traveling as much as I can as well.
What advice would you give to other people in your career field?
Always stay on top of the dynamic nature of Esri products. They’re always changing. Respect other people’s strengths and weaknesses and remember that team work makes the dream work.
