What brought you to Geo Owl?
A job posting for Geo Owl caught my attention, so I went to the website to do some digging. I saw the Team Geo Owl video on the website and immediately knew I wanted to be part of the team!

A job posting for Geo Owl caught my attention, so I went to the website to do some digging. I saw the Team Geo Owl video on the website and immediately knew I wanted to be part of the team! That video is a phenomenal display of the culture at Geo Owl. I instantly saw that Geo Owl’s culture mirrored the culture that my family had found in the military community: no matter who you are or where you come from, we are all one tribe and you can count on the team to have your back. I knew I wanted to be part of that.

What do you do at Geo Owl?
I’m the HR Representative. I handle onboarding, outprocessing, and support our team in everything in between.

What is your favorite part of your role?
My favorite part of my role is welcoming veterans and transitioning service members to the Geo Owl Team! I get to introduce our new teammates to Geo Owl’s values and help them feel at home and supported during what is usually a very stressful and chaotic time.

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?
Is napping considered a hobby? Being the mom of a toddler doesn’t leave me with much downtime, but I love listening to audiobooks and podcasts while I’m driving. I enjoy learning about real estate investing and finance, so I use my drive time to learn about my interests.

What is your favorite book and why?
I adore the Harry Potter series. It’s full of action, hard choices, and characters with flaws. The characters aren’t perfect and they don’t always make the right decisions. In fact, they often make poor decisions, but they keep pushing on! They try to do the best with what they have in the moment and grow through the difficult times. I love any story where people choose to overcome their past mistakes and strive to be the best they can be.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1106″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I see myself still living near a beach with my beautiful little family. Hopefully I will have reached my goal of earning an MBA by that point, and be well on my way to owning a vast portfolio of real estate!

What advice would you give to other people in your career field?
Use what you have! HR is a diverse field with so many types of positions and pathways to success. If you area hoping to break into the HR field, start with whatever skills you already have and build upon them. I had no experience in HR before I joined the Geo Owl Team, but I did have customer service skills. I was able to use that to better serve our team members and I’ve learned the other necessary skills along the way![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
