The Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Symposium returns to the America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, Missouri from May 21-24. GEOINT 2023 represents the 20th occasion of the trade show hosted by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. The theme is “From Maps to Metaverse” as spatial data experts from industry, government, and academia explore the future of spatial intelligence inside the digital universe. The event is hosted by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. NGA’s newest director, Vice Admiral Whitworth, is likely to be providing the headlined keynote address. The organization is dedicated to improve and “promote the geospatial intelligence tradecraft” and was last in St. Louis in 2019 for the same event.
Attendees to GEOINT 2023 should plan on arriving at least a day early to attend the “GEOINT FORWARD” event which highlights current focus areas, key challenges, and interesting ideas from across the community and is typically topped off with a community favorite social engagement event.
The current prospectus for organizations looking for sponsorship or exhibit opportunities demonstrates a healthy interest in accessing the Geospatial Intelligence market. Consumers like the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency will be in attendance and who’s director typically rallies the GEOINT community through the marquee keynote of the event. St. Louis is also the home to NGA’s new $1.7 Billion headquarters which is slated to be completed near the end of next year.

GEOINT 2022 was held in April 2022 in Aurora, Colorado with the theme “The Foundation of Intelligence” and headlined by a keynote from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency director Vice Admiral Robert Sharp. The theme for his presentation was GEOINT as the foundation of intelligence. “Everything on Earth, from its watery depths to its highest peaks, can be measured in space and time.” The director covered topics such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, NGA Partnerships, a magnetic navigation system named Magneto, arctic gravity collection via gravimeters, maritime safety and the Source Maritime Automated Processing System (SMAPS), NGA’s inheritance of DoD’s artificial intelligence initiative project Maven, and NGA’s Tech Focus Areas report for 2022.
