The North Carolina ArcGIS Users Group Conference (NCAUG) was held September 18-20, 2019 in beautiful downtown Wilmington. The NCAUG Conference was extra special this year as it also celebrated the 30th anniversary of NCAUG. The conference hosted a gathering of ArcGIS users from around the state of North Carolina and included participants from state and local government, the private sector, and university students. Over 375 people attended the conference that focused on the theme of “How Far We’ve Come.” Breakout sessions were held on a variety of topics including LIDAR, Remote Sensing, Emergency Management, GIS Web applications, and Next Generation GIS. The highlight of NCAUG was a keynote address by ESRI founder and CEO, Jack Dangermond, who discussed the future of GIS and the ever-expanding use of geospatial information worldwide.

Geo Owl was a Diamond sponsor for this event, and we are very happy we were able to take part in a conference that promotes the GIS field in North Carolina. Many of our team members attended the conference and the additional workshops and left with a plethora of new knowledge. We are also proud to announce that Hunter Synan, one of our Imagery Analysts, was awarded the 2019 NCAUG Graduate Scholarship at the conference.
